Iain Gore
- In 1994 Iain started recording demos for his band on a four track. From 1996 he completed & achieved City & Guilds Parts 1 & 2 and a Music Technology A level.
In 1998 he started working for Spiral Media Productions run by a former Neve engineer. It was at Spiral Media that he helped build and wire their new studios and consequently this was a great foundation where he gained valuable techincal and creative insight into recording, from local bands to the diverse of location recordings, such as Gregorian choirs.
In 2000 Iain moved to London and completed an SAE diploma in Audio Engineering. In June 2001 he jointed Metroplolis as a runner and quickly moved on to the newly created Protools Support room where he helped to create and implement strategies and standards to insure safe storage of digital multi-tracks. Over the past 4 years at Metropolis Iain has continued to develop his technical and creative skills, which include knowledge of SSL E, G, J & K series and Neve VR Consoles. Iain is confident working in the analogue and/or digital domain and understands the advantages and disadvantages of both media in various applications.
At Metropolis Iain worked with many highly regarded producers (Brian Eno, Mick Jones, Chris Potter, Bill Price, Gary Langan, Tom Elmhirst & Dave Sardi) on a variety of acts such as The Libertines, Richard Ashcroft, Manic Street Preachers, The Verve, Oasis, I Am Kloot and a collaboration between The Edge and Chris Martin. This variety has allowed him to adopt and develop philosophies and standards which help to create an efficient, creative and smooth running sessions.
Iain approaches his sessions with a high lefel of enthusiasm and passion for making records.

- I was assisting Bill price on the Mixes of British Sea Power.
Eamon was telling me about his side project band, Brakes. Thats consisted of him the two Brothers Alex and Tom from Electric Soft Parade and Mark of Tenderfoot.
I asked if he wanted to record the Album with me at Metropolis. He said yes, on two conditions.
We record to tape and do it all in one week.
I said cool.
This was the fist Album I produced, it was whirlwind.
The Duets where recorded round one u47 Valve set to figure of Eight.
We did 16 tracks on three reels of 456 at 15ips. No noise reduction, the noise floor is high and I love the sound of it!

My favourite track on this EP is 57. The track was sounding good but it felt that it needed something. We were thinking percussion.
Just so Happened the studio we were in was out the back of social club. We rounded A couple of empty beer Barrels, Empty Gas canisters and a shopping Basket. The Bon Tempi Kit was born. Great!

A favorite sound of mine on riverside consists of a wem copy cat and Leslie speaker cabinet. They were used to create a sound that represent the particular female in this dark tale bubbling under the surface.
Fathers and Sons and Suicide granddad where recorded by Neil at Gold Top studios. I Mixed both these tracks.

These were tracks that James had produced in fruity loops. They had a great Energy to them. Anyone who can do what he does with fruity loops is a genius.
I was there to give them a bit more depth and punch.

We recorded the Album out in Latvia, the Band drove there backline out there!
A total of four weeks recording. Eating mainly Cheese, Salami and bread. Washed down with cheap European beer and mind altering absynthe.
Most the tracks were recorded live without a click. Clangers where fixed with the odd drop ins or Multi track Edits.
There were some particularly nice sounding guitar delays used on this album.
